Ventura Marina:

Harbor dredging continues through 17 March

VENTURA KEYS – DREDGING OPERATIONS –
in the Ventura Keys in conjunction with the Ventura Port District from 19 Mar
though 01 Apr 2005. Operations will begin at the entrance of the connecting
channel and proceed in a way that permits the channel to be kept operational
at all times. The floating portion of the pipeline is up to 1400 ft long, steel
line that runs from the DREDGE RYAN W to the transition line adjacent to
the end of Spinnaker Drive. Several support boats will on scene and
monitoring VHF-FM Ch. 9 and 16. Mariners are advised to use extreme caution
while transiting the work area. Anchors and dredge equipment will be
moved from the main channel during hours of non-operation of 8 hours or more.
Buoys will be positioned in a manner to maintain free and open
navigational access and will be marked for safe nighttime visibility.

carry no lights

Local Observations-
Storm debris persists off Ventura coast, including partially submerged logs and
areas of small, filter-choking crud are still heavy out to
three miles. Litter from the storms is visible near the islands.
