...HIGH SURF AND COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FRIDAY
THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT..

LARGE...LONG PERIOD SWELLS FROM A STORM IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE
WILL MOVE THROUGH OUR COASTAL WATERS TODAY AND SATURDAY. LAST NIGHT
AT HIGH TIDE...HIGH WAVES IN MALIBU DAMAGED AT LEAST ONE HOME AND
SOME RETAINING WALLS. SINCE TIDES WILL BE HIGHER TONIGHT AND AGAIN
SATURDAY NIGHT...THE POTENTIAL IS EVEN GREATER FOR MORE COASTAL
FLOODING WITH DAMAGE ALONG SOUTH FACING BEACHES. ALSO...THESE LARGE
SWELLS WILL PRODUCE HIGH SURF CONDITIONS WITH BREAKERS IN EXCESS OF
10 FEET. THESE SURF CONDITIONS WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY POWERFUL RIP
CURRENTS MAKING IT EVEN MORE DANGEROUS TO VISIT LOCAL BEACHES.
Note- neither CI nor Ventura Harbor Patrol report difficult conditions at
harbor entrances as of Friday morning. If in doubt, call on #16.
