Ventura Harbor 27 March 05
From:
Scott Miller, Operations Manager, Ventura Port District

Debris in/near harbor
Ocean waters muddy near shore; floating debris still a threat
to props and hulls. Slowing down increases one's ability to spot
trees and logs in the water and can reduce damage if a log or tree cannot be
avoided.

Dredging operations continue

The dredge Ryan W has resumed work in the stub channel into the
Ventura Keys and is making good progress. (see picture) Boaters
should contact the dredge directly on channel 16 for passing instructions.

Numerous changes to SF chart, relocating lights
and other nav aids. Also changes to Los Angeles,

Ventura Harbor 23 March 05
From:

Tuesday rain brought new hazards to Ventura
Tuesday's rain,1.5 - 2.5 inches, has again muddied the ocean water and it
can be anticipated that more debris flowed out of the rivers creating
additional navigation hazards. Slowing down increases one's ability to spot
trees and logs in the water and can reduce damage if a log or tree cannot be
avoided.
